2025 1st Quarterly Safety Initiative Winner

New Communities at Cypress Pond - Winner of AgriTrust of Georgia Quarterly Safety Initiative for 1st quarter of 2025

July 21, 2025 - Congratulations to New Communities at Cypress Pond of Albany, GA for being named the 1st Quarter Winner of the AgriTrust of Georgia Quarterly Safety Initiative. 

New Communities is a grassroots organization that, for the last 60 years, has been the model for community empowerment through agribusiness, education, social awareness, and wealth building. It is a place where land management meets farming and education. In addition to normal farming activities, New Communities hosts a yearly Farm Field Day that allows guests to view different farming operations and soil management techniques. They also sponsor several summer internships ranging from agricultural research, policy & advocacy, and farm innovation which allows young students to gain vital experience and skills.

New Communities at Cypress Pond understands that farming can be a dangerous industry. To help prevent any accidents from happening, New Communities holds multiple safety trainings every month to ensure all employees know the dangers that are associated with their unique business. Their safety training, “What Lifting With Your Legs Really Means” was selected as the winning meeting for the quarter. Because of their dedication to safety AgriTrust of Georgia has presented New Communities at Cypress Pond with a check for $2,000.00 to help celebrate their long history of creating a safe workplace.

AgriTrust of Georgia is a group self-insured workers’ compensation fund that provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the agricultural industry in the state of Georgia. The Quarterly Safety Initiative is designed to encourage all of the fund members to participate in an active safety program.
