November 25, 2025 - Congratulations to Southeast Ag Research, Inc. of Chula, Ga, for being named the 3rd Quarter Winner of the AgriTrust of Georgia Quarterly Safety Initiative. The Quarterly Safety Initiative is a program designed to reward the members of AgriTrust of Georgia for completing safety training throughout the year. For every safety training a member company conducts, they may become eligible to be entered into a drawing. At the end of each quarter, a winner is selected and awarded $1,000.00. As further incentive, if the winner did not have a lost-time claim during that quarter, the prize is doubled to $2,000.00.
In 1992, David Moore decided to take a portion of the family farm operation in a different direction from traditional farming and created Southeast Ag Research (SEAgR). SEAgR performs agricultural field research on everything from pollinator trials to pesticide efficacy, to crop nutrition and breeding. At SEAgR, David’s passion for agriculture and his love for data collection in the hot sun, cold rain, mud, wind, humidity, and bugs were able to be satisfied.
As an agricultural research facility, safety is of top importance, not only to protect the research, but the employees that are like family. Facing unique challenges in every trial presents unique hazards that employees face daily. Fortunately, by following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), the employees at SEAgR maintain the highest standards of safety. Safety on the farm goes beyond just having a set of how-to guidelines, it is about practicing safety until it becomes second nature. Due to their dedication to safety and employee training, Southeast Ag Research, Inc. has been named the 3rd Quarter Safety Initiative Winner and has earned a check for $2,000.00.
AgriTrust of Georgia is a group self-insured workers’ compensation fund that provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the agricultural industry in the state of Georgia.
